46th St. Woodworks is dedicated to bringing the beauty of organic natural wood to your home. Jon Kenton’s designs take their shapes and colors from the natural flow and tones of the wood itself, adding a flair for visual effect and tactile impact to every item. The stylish pepper mills, individual keepsake boxes, imaginative bottle stoppers and natural cutting boards will bring an artistic and functional charm to your home, in addition to the pleasure of owning and using a beautiful, decorative, and individually hand-crafted item.
In addition to smaller items, Jon works on custom furniture commissions. Your dining table will become the stunning centerpiece of your home, bringing family and friends together around a custom-designed masterpiece. You are involved with your project from the choosing of the wood, through the design process, to the final assembly and finishing of your custom furniture. Additionally, specialized items for weddings, like groomsmen’s gifts or keepsake boxes, can be custom designed. A personal gift for graduation, an anniversary, or an important birthday will be a graceful and memorable reminder of happy times.
Jon Kenton brings more than 20 years of experience to his craft. Jon is the third generation of woodworkers to use many of his tools, gaining great pleasure from using planes and chisels which belonged to his father and grandfather. Jon has lived in Phoenix for 17 years, and brings his love of the American southwest, as well as his English heritage and traditional skills, into his work. Each unique item is intended to be used and enjoyed, and will last for generations. Always on the lookout for materials, Jon, at 46th St. Woodworks, has the imagination to see the potential of raw wood, transforming it into pieces which bring out the natural form and preserve its history and organic beauty.
